What is GDPR ( General Data Protection Regulation)?

 EU's GDPR stands for General Data Protection regulation and it gives more authority over  online data of an idivisual that are being used by data giant companies for example, Google, Facebook and  Twitter . In rough words, you can understand by Google's collection of data for Adsense advertisement. Google collects data from your email-id, your cookies, search history and  YouTube. These data are used for showing advertisement on the website content you reading and watching. Furthermore, you might have noticed that if you have browsed a website about T-shirts and after sometime. You will see that advertisement about T-shirts are coming on the websites you are browsing next.  But, Google does not shows what  data is being collected. After coming GDPR Google   will be bound to show your data and if you want to delete them you can delete.
After coming this  regulation, companies are updating their data privacy policies to be compliant with GDPR.

Who will get affected?
  • Companies which are in EU.
  •  Outside EU but process EU's user data.
  • Advertising companies that  collect and process  personal data for advertisement.
  • Marketing research companies that collect data to the market for services and products.
What if a company breaks the rule?
If a company breaks the rule 4% of the annual income or $24.6 million which one is bigger 
will be fined.
What is deadline the regulation to be enforced?
25 may 2018 is the deadline for companies to make their data privacy policies compliant  with GDPR.
